Description

Professor J. K. (Jake) Aggarwal, a Cullen Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Computer and Vision Research Center at University of Texas, Austin, TX is world renowned for his many pioneering contributions to computer vision. In particular, Jake is one of the founders of the fundamental and classical area of computer vision namely, structure from motion. Jake has also made original and significant contributions to several other areas of computer vision including but not limited to, analysis and understanding of range images, analysis of articulated motion, human activity modeling and recognition and automatic target recognition using multi-modal sensors. This special issue is brought to you in recognition and honor of the multi-faceted contributions of Jake to computer vision. Consequently, we solicit original research papers in areas related to any of the following topics: 

  • Structure from motion
  • Analysis of range images
  • Modeling of human motion
  • Tracking of rigid and non-rigid objects
  • Human activity modeling and recognitionAutomatic target recognition
  • Multi-sensor fusion for computer vision

Submissions

All submissions for this special issue are required to follow the same format as regular full-length Computer Vision and Image Understanding papers. Manuscripts must be submitted through the CVIU online submission system at http://ees.elsevier.com/cviu. Please ensure to select 'Special Issue: JKA Celebration Issue' as the 'Article Type'. All manuscripts should contain at least 30% original material. When submitting a manuscript that is an expanded version of a conference or workshop paper, this prior paper must be included as 'Supplementary Material' during submission. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed according to the CVIU reviewing procedures.
